78th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo

Experience one of Destin’s most treasured traditions at the 78th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, a month-long celebration of fishing, competition, and the coastal lifestyle that has helped make Destin known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” Established in 1948, the Destin Fishing Rodeo has grown from a local fishing competition into one of the Gulf Coast’s premier fishing events, attracting anglers from near and far.

Throughout October, anglers of all ages can compete aboard registered private and charter boats for daily, weekly, and overall awards across numerous species and divisions. 

You don’t have to be an angler to enjoy the excitement! Daily weigh-ins are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the docks behind AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, giving visitors and locals a front-row view as anglers bring in their catches and compete for prizes.

From watching the big catches arrive at the docks to experiencing the energy of Destin Harbor, the Fishing Rodeo is a quintessential Destin experience. Come fish, come watch, and come celebrate a tradition that has been bringing people together on the Emerald Coast for nearly eight decades.
