Race to the Rhein: War Comes to America

Crestview’s annual World War II living history weekend is approaching as fast as a halftrack roaring down a lane in Normandy! Experience the war up close and personal at Race to the Rhein: War Comes to America, as we remember the “unprovoked and dastardly attack” on the American naval base in Pearl Harbor that brought the war to America’s shores 85 years ago.

Through living history encampments and re-enactor demonstrations and battle scenarios, an onsite WWII museum, war-era vehicles and history panels detailing the personalities, the battles, the campaigns, the secrets and little-known stories of the war, visitors receive a broad overview of how the war started — and how the Allies brought it to a thundering close. The weekend’s events close with a free public USO-style big band dance.
