Sailing lessons in the Bay with MidBay Sailing
Never raised a sail? Not sure what a “boom” is? That’s ok! This beginner sailing lesson will teach you the basics and even let you take the helm.
During your beginner sailing lesson with Captain Brian Gwinnup and the MidBay Sailing team you’ll not only discover what it’s like to be aboard/onboard a sailboat, but how to sail yourself! These lessons are all about building confidence so you’ll start with the basics like learning sailing terminology, parts and functions of the keelboat, safety and more. Once you’re starting to catch on, it’s time to head out from Bluewater Bay Marina to test out your knowledge hands-on. Your instructor will be your guide as you hoist the sail, explore the Choctawhatchee Bay and learn how to steer the boat using the power of the wind.
