Conservation in Destin–Fort Walton Beach is a community effort, one that invites everyone to take part in protecting the natural world around them.
From beach cleanups along the shoreline to educational experiences like turtle talks, + conservation conversations, there are many ways to get involved and make a meaningful impact. These opportunities are designed to be both engaging + educational, helping connect people of all ages to the ecosystems they enjoy.
Our Natural Resources teams also participate in community events throughout the area, sharing insights into local conservation efforts + helping raise awareness about the work being done to protect Northwest Florida’s natural resources. These outreach efforts create opportunities for meaningful conversations + deeper community connection.
Groups, individuals and organizations can also participate through volunteer opportunities, on-call sessions and the ability to host conservation-focused events. Each experience helps build awareness + encourages a shared responsibility for preserving the natural beauty of Destin–Fort Walton Beach.
The mission is simple: create opportunities for the community to learn, participate + contribute to conservation efforts that protect Destin–Fort Walton Beach for generations to come.
