Diving the SS United States
What began as a nearly 1,000-foot ocean liner will soon become something extraordinary beneath the surface. With her new designation as the world’s largest artificial reef, the SS United States will transform open Gulf waters into a thriving ecosystem–creating structure for wildlife to seek shelter and create habitats. Due to her size, the SS United States will be deployed in 180-feet of water, but her top deck will be in the 55 to 60-foot range and accessible to all levels of certified divers.
