The Ted Forsgren M/V NEKTON RORQUAL is a 75-foot former scuba diving liveaboard that once carried divers on week-long expeditions throughout the Caribbean. After being donated to Okaloosa County’s artificial reef program, the vessel was intentionally deployed as an artificial reef off the coast of Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Resting in approximately 132 feet of water, its unique SWATH catamaran design provides excellent structure for marine life. The NEKTON RORQUAL’s sister ship, the Ted Forsgren M/V NEKTON PILOT, has also been deployed as an artificial reef, preserving the legacy of these iconic dive vessels beneath the Gulf.
