Gulf Coast Surf School
With fairly tame conditions comparably safer than the West Coast or Hawaii and crystal clear water, the Gulf is an ideal place to experience surfing for the first time. Gulf Coast Surf School has expert, friendly and CPR-certified instructors with decades of surfing experience to make your first time out a memorable one. As part of a 90-minute family lesson, you and your kids will start with land-based instruction to review water safety/etiquette and learn the fundamentals of the proper prone position, paddling technique, the "pop up", proper stance as well as the various ways to paddle out. From there, you’ll head out to the water where you’ll receive active guidance and assistance.
