Camping in Henderson Beach State Park

With 60 campsites all a short walk from the beach, camping in Henderson Beach State Park gives you 24/7 access to adventure.

All 60 campsites have water, electricity, a ground grill and a picnic table. And, unlike many state parks, pets are welcome at campsites and along the nature trail. Your whole family will love biking, hiking and exploring the 6,000 feet of open shoreline!

Looking to reel in even more fun? Henderson Beach State Park’s quiet beaches are the perfect place for first-time surf fisherman. You can rent rods and reels and purchase bait at Half Hitch Tackle or Bass Pro Shop in Destin Commons.

You can make reservations up to 11 months in advance and spaces do fill up! By the way­, you don’t need to be camping in Henderson Beach State Park to enjoy it–the park is open to the public all year from 8am to sundown! (Admission is $6 per car.)

Tip from our locals:

The hiking trail in Henderson Beach State Park is .75 miles long, made of soft sand and host unique wildlife native to dune habitats. Make sure to ask about their guided hiking tour. (And if you’re visiting in the fall, keep an eye out for the migrating monarch butterflies.) This trail is great for kids and near a playground for even outdoor adventure.
